Violet's career spans over 20 years having worked in both private and public sectors . She is great at translating plans into actionable processes, thus she is great at execution a rare talent that she is willing to impart on others. She possesses great interpersonal skills and is a great team builder. Violet works well independently while contributing to the goals of the entire team. She likes reading and has immerse interest in global affairs and how they affect local businesses, governments and entire communities.

She worked as a Diplomat at the Embassy of Malawi in Washington DC from 2016 to 2022 where she was responsible for monitoring political and economic events to inform Malawi government policy decision makers. Before that she worked as Forex Bureau Manager at FDH Financial Holdings where she was responsible for developing business strategy for the Bureau and ensure that it was executed successfully. She was working as HNI Manager by the time she left the Bank.  Before FDH, she was with Malawi Savings Bank where she held positions of Operations Manager at its Head Office in Blantyre, Branch Manager for Blantyre Branch, Account Relationship Manager for Corporate Department as well as Credit Analyst.  As an Operations Manager, she was responsible for managing day to day operations for the Banks Agencies that were spread across Malawi including providing operational support to the Bank's Branches. She joined banking in 2003 through the then Commercial Bank of Malawi which was later taken over by Standard Bank.

She graduated from Chancellor College in 1997 with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences a qualification that enabled her to land a position with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry as Industrial Development Officer from 1998 to 2003.

​

Violet is married to Joseph Skeva and has two sons Tamanda and Kaso.
